RENT A SELLING SPACE FOR
A DAY, A WEEKEND, OR LONGER
You can rent a selling space at Carrara Markets for as little as $50 a day. There are no leases nor contracts to lock you in – you are free to leave at anytime*
It’s so cost effective to rent a stall at Carrara Markets that the majority of our 300 plus stallholders have been at the markets for well over 5 years. In fact, many have been here over 10 plus years. Our longest serving stallholder has been at the markets for over 40 years. That speaks volumes about the success of the markets because no one would stay if they weren’t making money.
There are 3 rental options at the markets

3. LOCK UP 'SHOPS'
At most times we have lock up shop spaces available. These vary in size with rents averaging around $200 per week. Shop sizes average about 5m x 3m. The advantage of a lock up is that you can leave your set up and stock in place 7 days a week and you have access to the shop 7 days a week.
*It is a requirement to rent lock up spaces for an initial minimum period of 4 weeks after which time the tenancy reverts to week to week. Initial lock up shop rentals require a payment of 4 weeks rent in advance. The equivalent of 2 weeks of the pre-payment goes to a bond which is refundable at the end of the tenancy provided no damage has occurred. 2 weeks payment goes to rent in advance. Some lock up shops require a $100 key deposit as well, but the majority just require you to bring your own padlock/s.
After the initial 4 week period you are always free to relocate within the market if you wish subject to availability.
Power is available to Lock Up Shops and is included in the rent for basic appliances ie: lights, computer.
Important things to note:
-
Public Liability cover is included in the rent
-
With all rentas,l tenants can retain their location by simply keeping their rent one week in advance.
-
We only take bookings for spaces on Fridays, ie. the day before, for the weekend you wish to trade.
-
What is available to rent will vary week to week as some tenants come and go
-
You need to pay upon booking to secure the space. This can be done in person at the markets by cash or card, or by paying over the phone by card. No stalls can be paid for on the day
-
There is a $50 bond payable on gazebo bookings
-
This bond is refundable at 2.30pm on the day/weekend of your booking provide you have met following basic rules. A breach of those rules will result in forfeiture of the bond.
-
Once you pay for a casual stall you cannot cancel after
-
We do have a wet weather guarantee for gazebos (not lock up shops). If in the opinion of management, adverse weather will affect casual trading for the day, then a credit is issued for a future date of the stallholders choosing.
Basic Rules
-
We keep it pretty simple - there are just a few basic rules that we'll run through with you on the day. The most important of which is that you must trade 8.00am to 2.30pm each trading day (you can't come late and you can't pack away a single item until after 2.30pm)
-
You must park your (and your staff's) car in the stallholder car park zone
